B-hyve XD 1, 2 and 4-Port Timers Compared
B-hyve XD 1, 2 and 4-port timers compared: models 24511, 24632, 24634, plus hub bundles 24637 and 24639. All need a Gen 2 hub for Wi-Fi features.
The B-hyve XD hose timer comes with 1, 2 or 4 outlets (ports): 24511 has one, 24632 has two and 24634 has four. Each port controls its own hose or watering zone. All XD timers need a Gen 2 hub (21027) for Wi-Fi and smart features, and 24637 (2-port) and 24639 (4-port) are sold with the hub included.

What are the XD models?
| Model | Ports | Hub included | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 24511 | 1 | No | Standalone timer |
| 24632 | 2 | No | Standalone timer |
| 24634 | 4 | No | Standalone timer |
| 24637 | 2 | Yes, Gen 2 hub | Hub-inclusive package |
| 24639 | 4 | Yes, Gen 2 hub | Hub-inclusive package |
Ports are hose outlets, not sprinkler zones. A sprinkler controller zone is an underground valve. An XD port is a hose faucet connection.
What do all XD timers share?
- On-device display and programming, plus Bluetooth control from the app.
- Wi-Fi remote control through a Gen 2 hub. Orbit calls this hybrid control: program on the device, locally by Bluetooth, or remotely through Wi-Fi.
- WeatherSense smart watering, which needs the hub to get weather data.
- Drought level information and local watering restriction settings.
- IPX-5 certification, which protects against low-pressure water streams from any angle.
- Battery-powered operation (listed on the 24639 page).
- A 2-year limited warranty from an authorized dealer.
What does the 4-port timer give me?
Orbit's 24639 page documents separate control of up to four hoses or zones, local Bluetooth access, remote control through the included hub, weather-responsive watering, manual operation, configurable rain delays and watering history logs. The 2-port works the same way with two outlets.
Is a 4-port timer the same as four timers on a manifold?
No. One XD 4-port timer has four controlled outlets in one body. Orbit also sells Gen 2 single-outlet timers that fit up to four on a multi-port manifold (sold separately), and the 21207 four-pack bundle includes a hub and a manifold. That is four separate timers. See Gen 1 vs Gen 2 hose timers.
Does hub-inclusive matter for WaterSense?
Yes. The XD listings say XD timers meet EPA WaterSense standards when purchased and paired with a Wi-Fi hub, and name 24516, 24637 and 24639. Orbit's standalone 24632 page says that package does not include a Gen 2 hub and is not eligible for WaterSense-label rebates in that configuration. Check the exact model and your local rebate program.
Which should I choose?
- Choose by the number of separate hoses or drip lines you want to schedule independently: 1, 2 or 4.
- Choose a hub-inclusive model (24637 or 24639) if you do not own a Gen 2 hub.
- Skip the hub only if Bluetooth-only control is enough. See Can B-hyve work without Wi-Fi?.
- If you already have a Gen 2 hub, you can add a standalone timer to it.
Known source conflict
The Orbit 24632 page title identifies a two-outlet timer, but one paragraph of its description refers to a "1-Outlet Add-On" timer. Treat the title and model number as the 2-port identification and confirm in the 24632 manual.
