B-hyve, WaterSense and Utility Rebates
B-hyve WaterSense rebate eligibility depends on the exact model and configuration, and rebates are not guaranteed. Check your utility's program.
Selected B-hyve controllers and connected hose-timer packages are EPA WaterSense labeled, but not every B-hyve product is. Eligibility depends on the exact model and configuration, and rebates are not guaranteed. Check your utility's current program and eligible-model list before you buy.
Is B-hyve WaterSense labeled?
Orbit identifies selected controllers and connected hose-timer packages as WaterSense labeled and keeps a WaterSense-labeled collection on its site. Do not assume the label applies to every product with the B-hyve name.
Two examples from Orbit's product pages show why configuration matters:
| Product | What Orbit says |
|---|---|
| 24639, XD 4-outlet timer bundled with a Gen 2 hub | The connected configuration is tied to WaterSense weather-based controller protocols. |
| 24632, XD 2-outlet Bluetooth timer (standalone) | The page says the timer does not include a Gen 2 hub and is not eligible for WaterSense-label rebates in that configuration. |
The pattern is that a standalone Bluetooth timer and a hub-inclusive package are different products for this purpose. See Can B-hyve work without Wi-Fi? and B-hyve XD 1, 2 and 4-port timers compared.
Can I get a rebate on a B-hyve?
Maybe. Orbit operates a rebate center and states that qualifying products may be eligible for rebates from participating water agencies or cities. Selected B-hyve products may qualify for local irrigation-controller rebates. Whether yours does depends on the model and on your local program.
Do not assume a rebate will cover the whole purchase. One App Store reviewer reported that a water company rebate covered a large share of their cost for a controller and two hose timers, but that is one owner's local program, not a promise.
How do I check eligibility?
- Find the exact model number of the product you plan to buy, and note whether the hub is included.
- Open the Orbit rebate center and look for your water agency or city.
- Check your utility's own page for the current eligible-model list, deadlines and purchase requirements.
- Keep your receipt and follow the program's application steps.
Rebate programs change, so confirm current terms with the program itself.
Does the WaterSense label mean guaranteed savings?
No. The Google Play description for the B-hyve app says smart watering can save "as much as 50% more water over a traditional controller". That is Orbit's promotional wording, not a guaranteed result, and the baseline and test method are not stated in the sources reviewed here. Actual use depends on your landscape, settings and weather. For how the weather-based logic works, see What is B-hyve smart watering (WeatherSense)?.
Where do I ask questions about eligibility?
Ask your water agency about rebate rules and Orbit about product configuration. Orbit's support portal is support.orbitonline.com. This site is independent and cannot confirm eligibility for you.
